All abilities are welcome at Bending Tree Yoga and Healing Center. Classes are designed to give you the chance to open your body, heart, mind and spirit; and spend time looking within through breathing, vinyasa flow, deep stretching and Oming. Classes combine strength and flexibility in a unique combination of the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga to help you quiet your mind; tune into your body; and deepen your practice and sense of being. Whether it is finding a posture; letting go of an attachment; or discovering creativity and inspiration; yoga at Bending Tree provides a chance to do it. All classes are based in Hatha Yoga style with an influence of Baron Baptiste.
Hatha Yoga means sun (ha) and moon (tha) in Sanskrit. It uses opposing energies to balance the mind, body and spirit. Hatha Yoga includes physical postures (asanas), breathing (pranayama) and meditation as a way to bring strength, grounding and creativity to your practice and encourage holistic living. Hatha Yoga is based on the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and also uses influences of the Bhagavad Gita, The Heart of Yoga by T.K.S. Desikachar.
Baron Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga is best described by Baron's book Journey Into Power: How to Sculpt Your Ideal Body, Free Your True Self, and Transform Your Life With Yoga. In this book he teaches strengthening the body and spirit; improving focus; letting go of old belief systems; and the inspiration to live authentically.
